Cara Edmond has worked in healthcare since 2002 when she got her start in a feminist women’s health clinic. Since that time, Ms. Edmond has worked in a variety of clinical settings including a private practice subcontracting for Medicaid to provide medical case management services to children and pregnant women, domestic violence shelters, in-patient hospital settings and in Austin-area emergency rooms.
Ms. Edmond maintains her clinical skill set by working in hospital settings and specializes in psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention (domestic violence, substance abuse, child and elder abuse, perinatal loss, suicide prevention), and care planning (for inpatient and outpatient services). Ms. Edmond has taught Case Management at AOMA since 2011 and she is also the Director of Continuing Education and Director of Institutional Effectiveness.
