Training in Herbal Pharmaceutical Techniques with Dr. Violet Song

In this four part evening course, Dr. Violet Song will teach students about basic herbal chemistry, which aids in the understanding of the herbal action through modern science. Students will also learn about the pharmacology of herbs, which will provide clinical support and address any safety concerns surrounding the use of Chinese herbs. Dr. Song will teach various, useful techniques for preparing herbal tinctures and herbal pills along with hands-on practice during class time. This four part series is worth a total of 8 CEUs.
Dr. Song worked as an instructor at Chengdu University, lecturing on the science of Traditional Chiniese Medicine prescriptions and herbology since 2005 and on TCM pharmacology since 2002. She has participated in research studies investigating the compatibility, pharmacology, and toxicology of TCM formulas and Chinese ethnic medicine, including Tibetan medicinal herbs. She has also participated in research grants from the National Science Foundation of China. Dr. Song also holds an invention patent of an herbal injection.
