The sixth chakra is called “Ajna”, which means ‘command’ or ‘management’ in Sanskrit. It is also known as the brow chakra because of its location in the brain, behind the eyebrows. The brow chakra relates to the pituitary gland, pineal gland, central nervous system and all of the senses. The 6th chakra is often referred to as the “mind’s eye”, and is the center of intuition and wisdom in support of the fulfillment of our life purpose. The brow chakra governs imagination, intuition, insight and perception. This energy center supports our learning from our experiences through coordinating analytical, emotional and subconscious faculties. When this chakra is in balance we can have access to heightened intuition, psychic senses, clear perception and focus. We will use the energy of creativity to stimulate and harmonize our 6th chakra through a guided inner journey of intuitive mandala painting, guided meditation practices and aromatherapy. Neoclassical Pulse Diagnosis Weekend 1

AOMA Graduate School Classroom E2, 4701 West Gate Blvd Austin, TX 78745

Info

Weekend I

After my teacher, John HF Shen passed in 2001, I went into a period of deep deconstruction of everything I had been taught in order to gain insight and discover my own truths around this beautiful tradition. This period resulted in the school of thought I call NeoClassical pulse diagnosis. That reconstruction of classical lore was made possible by my exposure to the teachings of John HF Shen.

The 8 extraordinary vessel (8EV) pulse method is one of the most robust and profound methods of pulse diagnosis I have found. It can be used for literally any condition. Further the pulse method describes shape and can be used for record keeping.

The 6-division (6D) pulse system will be addressed as well. It makes a perfect fit with the methods of Master Dong as he taught and as his disciples, Drs. Tan, Young and Lee. While the 6D method works quickly and effectively for pain syndromes, it can also be used for concerns of internal medicine.

Both the 6D and 8EV methods have roots in the Han Dynasty (circa 100CE). One of the earliest discussions in located in chapter 10 of Wang Shu-he’s Pulse Classic.

The NeoClassical method makes the entirety of the channel systems observable through the pulse.
