Join Randy Cummins in an experiential look at Shoshin Shiatsu: Form and Flow. This is a lovely class open to all bodyworkers, where we will both explore and experience our sense of self, our body mechanics, and our techniques. The class will include focused breath meditation, Maka-Ho exercises, and visiting the foundations that constitute healthy body mechanics and awarenesses through various Shoshin Shiatsu floor techniques during an ever-evolving session.

Open to all disciplines and levels of bodyworkers, this one day exploration will integrate principles of Shoshin “Beginner’s Mind” Shiatsu into a practice which looks at each client and asks, “What is appropriate in this moment?” From here, a session evolves based on what we feel, how our client reacts, and what we intuitively know by constantly enticing our minds into the present moment. This workshop explores a true life experience of how we look at and address the body during a continually evolving session.

Practitioners of various healing modalities will receive opportunity for growth in their field of work:

Acupuncturists will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and understanding of meridian location and function, and to experience direct, hands-on interaction with the channels and tsubos.

Massage therapists and bodyworkers will discover a truly integrative form of bodywork, combining myofascial soft tissue techniques and stretches with the location and stimulation of individual tsubos / trigger points for common imbalances.

Yoga and pilates instructors will learn to incorporate meridian-specific stretches and movements, as well as breath and meditation techniques, to facilitate the flow of energy throughout the body.
