AOMA began offering Federal Work Study (FWS) awards to eligible students in the 2011 - 2012 Award Year  . In order to be eligible for FWS, a student must have a current award year processed FAFSA and a remaining unmet need. The AOMA Financial Aid office will notify all FWS eligible students on a yearly basis prior to the beginning of a new award year (July 1st - June 30th) or during the current award year if you begin your program after summer. Acupuncture Model for once-a-term OSCEs (Exit Exams) (2 positions available)
SUPERVISOR:  MAcOM Program Director, Lesley Hamilton
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:    
Part-time, occasional position; occurs on practical exam dates (Sundays only):  June 1, September 21, and November 9, 2014. Acupuncture models are live models for the once-a-term 2nd year and exit practical exams (OSCE: objective structured clinical exams); Acupuncture models will have a number of treatment techniques and other skills demonstrated on them. These will included but are not limited to needle insertion and removal, point location stickers applied, cupping, gua sha, moxa, etc. Models may also be used to demonstrate TCM and biomedical physical assessments such as palpation, range of motion, blood pressure measurements, etc. Models do not speak during the examination session, but may be asked to answer examiner questions.

AOMA Herbal Medicine Sales Associate/Herbalist (1 position available)
SUPERVISOR: Director of Retail, General Manager, Assistant Manager
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Excellent customer service skills and willingness to learn all aspects of the store's operations. Responsible for daily tasks associated with dispensing herbs, filling formulas, and maintaining clean standards in the AOMA Herbal Medicine herb room. Front Desk Clerk - Seton-Topfer Community Clinic (1 Position Available)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Part-time position Thursdays 5:45pm – 9:15pm, not including break weeks. Compensation includes travel time for approximately a total of 5 hours per week). Manage reception desk of a busy student clinic within an affiliate’s community clinic. Checking in patients, scheduling appointments, pulling and filing charts and collecting co-pay fees and payments. Spanish is a plus but not required.

Make-up Exam Proctor (Multiple positions available)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Part-time, occasional position with a salary rate of $10/hr. Flexibility required as exams are scheduled sporadically throughout the term and break weeks. Work hours are 12:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. during the term and 10:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during break week. Exam proctors are tasked with supervising the completion of make-up exams, distribution of the correct exam, supervision during testing period, and collection of the exams at the end of the testing period to submit to the Registrar or Academic Coordinator. Research Coordinator (1 Position)

Youth Leader (Multiple Positions)
SUPERVISOR(S): El-Buen Samaritano Youth Coordinator, Robert Ochoa
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Off-campus position with weekly estimated hours to be between 16 - 22 depending on student availability. This position is a community service tutoring/literacy coach who will work with the Youth Coordinator, other youth leaders, volunteers and the Education Manager to provide assistance for all youth programs. S/He supervises children and is responsible for the implementation of youth programs. Part-time, responsible for preparing and distributing key research surveys in support of AOMA's institutional effectiveness processes. It is approximately 40 hrs. for the break week and is between terms only. No additional hours required while classes are in session. Requires use of Microsoft Excel for data import and survey setup, mail-merges, etc.

Part-time, temporary position that is about 5 hours a week for 2 months. The position involves gathering data from existing AOMA documents relating to clinical standards, meeting with supervisors to discuss research information, writing and revising drafts of standard topics with references. The applicant must be currently enrolled at AOMA, in good academic and financial standing, and, preferably, eligible for Federal Work-Study; must be computer proficient including Microsoft Office programs and browsers, has the ability to multi-task with communication skills and exceptional organizational skills. Temporary Project FWS (POSITION FILLED)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Part-time position responsible for providing edits to comparative materia medica in support to the President. These hours can be worked on a flexible schedule during the supervisor's available schedule of Tuesday mornings and Thursday and Friday afternoons. This special temporary project is estimated to take 20 - 40 hours to complete and has a starting salary of $10/hr.

Cureville Assistant (POSITION FILLED)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Part-time and seasonal position (approximately 100 hours total) responsible for providing support onsite at the Kerrville Folk Festival. Involves traveling to Cureville Clinic, camps and AOMA. Oversees clinic paperwork and serves as onsite support for AOMA interns, observers and supervisors during the Cureville clinic at the Kerrville Folk Festival.
