Professional Judgement

As provided by federal law, the Director of Financial Aid may use professional judgment to make adjustments to an individual student’s COA. Such adjustments are made on a case-by-case basis, and only when there is sufficient evidence to warrant them.

COA adjustments made through professional judgment recognize extraordinary, non-discretionary student costs associated with attending AOMA. These may include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, or nursing home expenses not covered by insurance, a change in housing status that results in homelessness, or unusually high childcare expenses.

Students who feel they need and qualify for an adjustment in their Cost of Attendance should complete the Request for Professional Judgement form and submit the completed form to the Director of Financial Aid. For questions contact the Director by phone (512-492-3077) or by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
