It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of JoyLynn Hailey Reed, PhD, chair of AOMA’s Board of Governors.  Dr. Reed passed away on June 15, 2013 after a 7-month battle with cancer at the Mayo Clinic.

Most recently JoyLynn was a Professor and Program Director at UT Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Reed was part of AOMA beginnings in 1993, when classes met at Casa de Luz and the institution was known as theTexas Acupuncture Institute. Under her leadership AOMA‘s enrollment is over 200 students, is regionally accredited, and has a new campus home. She was a true friend of AOMA who shared her wisdom, experience and joy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew United Methodist Church at 5801 West Plano Parkway in Plano Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Roaring Lambs Ministries, 17110 Dallas Pkwy Suite 220 Dallas, TX 75248.
