Dr. Pollard provides primary care for adolescents and adults with an integrative perspective. She strives to provide options for her patients that address the root causes of their issues and to offer holistic, as well as allopathic, medical approaches to managing them. She brought her practice to AOMA in 2013 so she could better apply this integrated model of care for her patients.

Dr. Pollard applies an evidence-based, personalized approach to medical care that is also preventative and participatory. She emphasizes nutrition and lifestyle while finding the health and wellness plan that is right for each individual. “Over time in my practice I have found that listening carefully to patients and reflecting on each case with healing intent makes the quality of care better, patients are more satisfied with an encounter and their care and so am I!”

In addition to conducting annual well examinations for everyone over the age of sixteen, Dr. Pollard assists with wellness-oriented preventative care and guidance, nutritional assessment, acute problems, sick visits, chronic medical problems and integral care coordination. She is especially interested in working with patients during transitional times in their lives.

Dr. Pollard earned her medical degree from the University of Texas - Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.  Dr. Pollard appreciates her specialty’s emphasis on the patient in the context of genetics, family, environment, community, and spirituality. She shares, “In my practice, I believe it is important to examine the many factors that may influence an individual’s health and well-being.”  Dr. Pollard did her residency in Family and Community Medicine at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital. After residency she had a busy practice in the community health center system in South Boston and Dorchester, Massachusetts and also did inpatient work at Boston Medical Center. Later she obtained a master’s in public health abroad and did research on primary care-oriented health systems and primary care evaluation in South America. Dr. Pollard has additional training in cross-cultural medicine, mind-body medicine, nutritional medicine,  functional medicine, as well as being a Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine.
