Pam has innovated new ways of integrating a variety of imaginative Qi stretches, imagery, art, and simple acupressure techniques that can be varied to suit kids of all ages. Creating a child-friendly practice goes way beyond techniques or providing a safe, colorful atmosphere. Pam developed this workshop across many of the European capitals where she teaches annually. The techniques are fun and easy to integrate in all branches of pediatric care, for Asian Bodywork Therapists, Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists, MD/Pediatricians, RNs, Physical and Occupational Therapists and Psychologists. Participants are encouraged to wear loose, comfortble cotton clothes, and to bring an assortment of toys, teddies, large exercise balls (if possible), also, colorful pens and markers and drawing pads.
3 Hours of CEU credits can be offered to LMTs, and 3 PDA points for anyone renewing NCCAOM certification.
Instructor Bio:: Pamela Ellen Ferguson: Dipl ABT (NCCAOM), AOBTA (R) Certified Instructor, LMT (TX), Approved CEU Provider for LMTs for Texas (#CE1356). Pam is AOMA's Asian Bodywork Therapy Dean Emerita and now teaches advnced workshops in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. She has authored several books including major textbooks The Self Shiatsu Handbook, and TAKE FIVE - the Five Elements guide to health and harmony. Together with Debra Duncan Persinger PhD, she co-edited SAND TO SKY - Converstions with Teachers of Asian Medicine, including several from AOMA. Her latest book is a work of fiction for children titled Sunshine Picklelime about a young bird whisperer whose love of animals and art help her navigate a friend's death.
