Prepare for the Success You Define
AOMA graduates have discovered a life of passion and purpose – a life where professional achievement meets personal fulfillment. They have gone on to become private practice acupuncturists, herbalists, authors, university faculty, even entrepreneurs. They speak at national conferences, author books and journal articles about Chinese medicine, and go on to teach at the graduate level. AOMA graduates are at the forefront of medicine, practicing in clinics that integrate Eastern and Western medical traditions.
Currently 94% of AOMA graduates practice in the field of Chinese medicine and 90% of AOMA graduates receive licensure within one year of graduation. AOMA alumni are practicing in 42 U.S. states and on two continents. The impact AOMA graduates make, however, goes far beyond their personal success. They become part of the national dialogue about the integration of acupuncture with Western medicine, and offer solutions to the challenge of health care access in the U.S. and around the world.
Preparing students for future careers is an important part of the AOMA curriculum. Three practice management courses are taught in collaboration with community experts on topics like business plan development, marketing, and tax planning. Additionally, AOMA offers career resources like job searching and resume writing. Each month, AOMA’s career services staff posts 20 – 30 jobs for acupuncturists to our LinkedIn networking group for alumni.
