Part-Time Acupuncturist - Beachside Community Acupuncture PLLC

Shifts per week: two to three five- to six-hour shifts per week to start, paid semi-monthly

Salary: $25.00 /hour

Purpose and aim:

The goal of the Licensed Acupuncturist is to help as many people as possible with holistic evaluations and quality treatments. Above all else the Acupuncturist needs to truly care about patients and effectively manage time so that each patient feels like he or she has been understood and has been provided with a valuable healing experience.

Key duties and responsibilities:

New patient intakes and follow-up discussions
Review new patient paperwork, ask additional questions to develop a diagnosis, check tongue and pulse, and explain the basics of acupuncture within 15-25 minutes
Assess changes in follow-up patient health by asking questions and checking tongue and pulse if needed within 5-10 minutes

Practice Clean Needle Technique
Insert 10-15 needles to address patient’s chief complaints and underlying imbalances
Ensure patient comfort before leaving him or her to rest
Keep track of time according to patient request – 20 to 60 minutes – and remove all needles when time is up, disposing of them into the sharps container

SOAP notes
Clearly chart patient complaints, objective findings, diagnosis, and treatment (including every point used during session and any recommendations about diet, lifestyle, herbs, supplements, oils, etc.) in online scheduling system
Update SOAP notes with symptom changes and treatment for each follow-up in scheduling system

New Patient profiles
Scan and save new patient documents
Update patient profiles

Schedule the patient’s next appointment if desired
Accept payment for treatment

Opening and closing
Get the clinic ready to accommodate patients if scheduled for an opening shift
Close down the clinic if scheduled for a closing shift

All key duties shall be performed in compliance with all applicable federal regulations and local ordinances

Technical skills:

Understanding of Clean Needle Technique
Ability to insert needles efficiently and accurately, preferably with little patient discomfort
Evaluation of patient intakes and progress with accompanied charting

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved acupuncture school and completed training that was substantially equivalent to program provided by such a school.


Required: two years' experience as a licensed Acupuncturist in a clinical setting.

Preferred: previous medical/oncology experience.


Required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Position: Part-Time Acupuncturist - Texas Center for Reproductive Acupuncture

The Texas Center for Reproductive Acupuncture is seeking a part-time licensed acupuncturist to grow our team of fertility specialists. We are a small, but incredibly busy clinic going strong since 2007. We typically serve anywhere from 2-3 patients per hour. We primarily treat patients dealing with male and female-factor infertility and other endocrine-related disorders. We treat women throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Additionally, we provide treatments addressing pain, allergies, and other common ailments. Interest and experience working with women, fertility and reproductive health is a must! Background in fertility is a plus but not a requirement! That said, motivation, compassion and a willingness to learn are.

This position would be ideal for a recent graduate or seasoned clinician looking to grow their interest in fertility-based acupuncture or supplement their own practice on a part-time basis. All training will be in-depth and provided on-site. All supplies are provided by our clinic. We will also train on our exclusive herbal formulas.

Currently we are looking for individuals who are open to working the following hours:

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1 pm - 7 pm

Position: Part-Time (potential full-time) Acupuncturist in San Antonio's hip Southtown Neighborhood and /or near the airport

Sanctuary Community Acupuncture is a growing community acupuncture clinic seeking a second acupuncturist to take on a few days a week in the community clinic. There is also a private treatment room potentially available.  The clinic is also home to a non-profit program called Whole Woman Whole World, which provides free acupuncture for women of San Antonio unable to afford preventative healthcare.  The program is under the umbrella of the Martinez Street Womens Center.  The clinic is set up to provide a sanctuary for all people to come and feel nourished.  And yes, it's moxa-friendly! 

Jennifer Tietz-Gwin, the owner and founder of the clinic and the non-profit program, has been a licensed acupuncturist for over 18 years.  She is thankful for the day the clouds opened up and the lightning struck down next to her with the message to become an acupuncturist.  She incorporates cranio-sacral therapy into her acupuncture practice and is currently studying Engaging Vitality with Dan Bensky, Marguerite Denkins and the late Chip Chace.  She believes strongly that our ability to be present with our patients can have a profound effect on the direction of their health.  She is hopeful to find a fellow acupuncturist who shares this value.  The clinic is generally booked solid each week.  The acupuncturist is compensated via a flat hourly amount, plus a per patient and herbal "commission."

Position: Clinical Assistant - Moon Medicine Healing Arts

Do you thrive in a Healing Arts setting?  We are looking for a part time clinical assistant ~10hrs a week to support an acupuncture practice in Austin, TX.

Duties include:

  • E-mail
  • Texting/Scheduling/Phone Calls
  • Organizational Components
  • Stocking Rooms
  • Cleaning Acupuncture Cups
  • Ordering Inventory (rare)
  • Pulling Supplements
  • Filling out patient charts
  • Basic Cleaning/Dusting

This is a pretty easy position with just some basic clinical support, admin work, organization etc. and has some options for 1x/mo personal assisting tasks.

Training hours will vary but once trained required hours are Monday Late afternoon/Early eve and Wednesday morning.

Starting pay is $11/hr with opportunities for incremental raises based on performance.
